A Chain of Custody will be
completed for all samples collected and tracked to ensure sample integrity.
Detection Limits: I BTEX I Oxygenates I TPH-G
Soil (jig/Kg) 13.0 15 -20 11,000
2.1.3 Water Sampling Procedure
Water sample depths will be targeted to complete the site conceptual model illustrating the
lateral and vertical extent of the groundwater plume at the site. Gregg will utilize a
hydropunch type sampler to obtain samples at depths to be determined in the field. The
sampler is attached to the end of the drill rods and then advanced to the targeted depth.
When the targeted depth is achieved, the rods are retracted 12— 18 inches to allow a screened
portion of the rods to be exposed and water to enter. A water sample will then be obtained
from inside the rod column by lowering a small diameter bailer into the rods. Water samples
will then be transferred from the bailer to VOA container for transport to the laboratory.
Care will be taken to minimize sample agitation from the initial filling of the bailer to the
transfer of the sample to the VOA vial. A description and schematic of the process is
included in Appendix C.
2.1.4 Water Sample Laboratory Analyses
Up to 4 groundwater samples from each borehole will be submitted to a State Certified
Laboratory for the following analyses:
• Benzene,toluene, ethylbenzene and xylene (BTEX)by EPA method 602/5030
• Gasoline range petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH-G) by EPA method 5030/8015(m)
• Gasoline oxygenates (MTBE,DIPE,ETBE, TAME&TBA) by EPA method 8260
The detection limits for these compounds are listed below. A Chain of Custody will be
completed for all samples collected and tracked to ensure sample integrity.
Detection Limits: BTEX Oxy,s TPH-G
Water(µ /L) 0.3-0.6 15 - 50 150
