CONCLUSIONS :
Based upon the data obtained to date, the following conclusions
appear appropriate:
1 . Levels of contamination as measured in the groundwater
i beneath the site are higher than would be expected in view of the
1 fact that the tanks were removed in 1987, and had not been used
for .some time before then.
2 . The groundwater gradient to date is towards the northeast,
consistent with regional data.
R 3 . Levels of gasoline contamination as measured in October,
1995, do not conform with the potentiomentric surface; the reason
for this divergence has not yet been determined.
RECOMMENDATIONS :
1 . Quarterly monitoring should continue until sufficient
additional data has been obtained to enable preparation of a
program for remedial action.
d 2 . Additional investigative work in the area of the pump island
should be performed to evaluate the possibility of that location
as an additional source of contamination. Such a program is
curre y' btj4ig prepared.
Wm J. n er & Associates
c R QCB
Valentines,
GiCpluPi"!//j
OF
I
2
