1
1
DEPTH TO GROUNDWATER:
' Based upon the spring 1993 water table map issued by the San
Joaquin County Flood Control District, groundwater was measured
at between 60' & 70' bgl at this location. Based upon published
' data, the highest water level in the last 10 years was measured
at about 27' bgl at this site. Groundwater was located at about
53' below grade during purging & sampling operations conducted on
October 3.
PRIOR USE OF REMOVED UST.' S:
' The site had been the location of a gasoline station for many
years; the removed tanks had been used for dispensing gasoline
and storing waste oil. The property is presently being used as
' an automotive tune--up & repair facility; the dispensing pumps &
associated piping were removed along with the tanks. There are
no records available concerning the dates that the tanks were
' installed
UMMARY OF PRIOR WORK DONE:
December, 198 - Application filed by Western Meter Service to
remove two (2) 3,000 gallon gasoline tanks and one (1) 150 gallon
waste oil tank from the property.
' April, 1987. - The 3 tanks were removed and soil Samples taken.
Laboratory analysis of samples from beneath the gasoline tanks
were below detection limits, but the soil sample from the waste
' oil site revealed the presence of ethylbenzene, toluene, xylene,
TPH-G, & motor oil. Refer to TABLES I & II for details.
' June 1987 - Site of removed waste oil tank was deepened to about
8 1/2' with a backhoe. A sample was taken at that depth and
analyzed for TPH; gasoline was measured at 1500 mg/kg, & motor
oil at 4200 mg/kg; diesel & kerosene were below detection limits.
Refer to TABLE III for details
August. 1987 - Waste oil tank site reentered & deepened to 13. 5'
' under direction of the EHD. A soil sample taken at that depth
was analyzed for benzene, toluene, xylene, & TRPH. Motor oil was
measured at 3100 mg/kg; all others were below detection limits.
' Refer to TABLE 1V for details.
October 1989 - Site was reentered & soil sample taken at
'
approximately 23' below grade. Laboratory analysis showed that
oil, as motor oil, was present at 280 mg/kg. This work was not
witnessed by the County EHD.
Auggst. 1993 -- Correspondence from County EHD required additional
' 3
