El Dorado St.
Stockton, CA
Project No 723 2
October 4, 1999
1.0 INTRODUCTION
This report summarizes the additional soil and groundwater investigative work conducted on
August 19 through August 21, 1999 Two soil borings were drilled at the site and one was
converted into a groundwater monitoring well Soil samples collected by use of the
SimulProbe® Maxitool from the soil borings tested positive for BTEX and TPH-G
compounds to a depth of 111 feet Porewater samples, also collected with the SimulProbe,
show the presence of BTEX and TPH-G to a depth of 111 feet bgs
The new well was developed on September 10, 1999 A groundwater monitoring event was
performed on September 13, 1999 Data from this event will be reported in the Summer 1999
Quarter Groundwater Monitoring Report, shortly
2.0 SCOPE OF INVESTIGATION
2.1 Soil Boring Installation
In an effort to define the vertical extent of gasoline range petroleum hydrocarbons, two (2)
soil borings were drilled, one to a depth of 98 feet and the other to a depth of 110 feet below
grade (bgs) The work plan to convert both of these boreholes into monitoring wells,
however, it was decided not to install a well in SB-201 because field indicators did not show
the presence of contamination at this depth and the geology was not conducive to the
installation of a well The boring was closed upon collection of the bottom hole sample using
a neat cement grout installed through a tremie pipe
IThe boreholes were drilled with an 8-inch outside diameter, continuous flight, hollow-stem
auger owned and operated by V&W Drilling (C57# 720904) from Rio Vista, California
Ile Monitoring well permits were secured from the San Joaquin County Public Health
Services/Environmental Health Department (SJC PHS/EHD) The local regulatory agency
Iwas notified 48 hours prior to commencing work
I
