Stockton" dated November 12, 1997 A summary of the laboratory results of soil & water
samples from the probe holes are shown on TABLE A As a result of that work, the
lateral limits of the plume have been fairly well defined in all directions Groundwater
samples taken at 60' bgl SP-5A & SP-6 (see PLATE IA,} measured 0 071 mg/L & 0 780
mg/L respectively The two closest morutonng wells are MW-6 & MW-2 The water
samples taken in December from those two wells recorded 35 1 mg/L & 23 1 mg/L
respectively BTEX was detected at fairly high levels in those two monitoring wells, but
were ND in the soil probes
CONCLUSIONS:
1 The lateral limits of soil & groundwater contamination appear to be well defined in all
directions
2 The configuration of the pume has not changed significantly since the June sampling
event This indicates that there is little or no horizontal groundwater movement in the
area This is to be expected, since the nearest domestic water well is over 200 feet
away, and it is not in a downgradient position
3 Although the vertical limits of contamination have not been fully defined, it appears to
be restricted to the center of the property
RECOMMENDATIONS:
o It is recommended that quarterly monitoring continue in order to better evaluate the
changes in levels of contamination
m Further work offsite does not appear warranted based upon the results of work done
to date Although the vertical limits of contamination have not been fully delineated,
we do not believe that placing additional wells on the property is justified
+ We recommend that proposals for remediating the soil & groundwater contamination
be obtaine in order to begin cleanup work at the site
W
tED Gip
W unter&Associates g
c ephen Valentine
Q LLAM I t,u,rE4 +
RW CB Y'rer /--lig
NO Cir)
0 CA-"c 'e
2
