El Dorado St.
Stockton, CA
' Project No 723 2
November 30, 2001
' 1.0 INTRODUCTION
In an August 1, 2000 correspondence to Mr Stephen Valentine, the San Joaquin County
Public Health Section/Environmental Health Division (SJC PHS/EHD) directed that a work
plan be submitted for the above site by August 25, 2000 The purpose of the required work
plan was to define the vertical extent of the groundwater plume in the former dispenser
location
' Geological Technics Inc (GTI) developed and submitted a work plan to meet this
requirement dated August 23, 2000 — "Vertical Definition Work Plan" The purpose of the
' investigation was to further define the vertical extent of groundwater impacts and site
lithology To accomplish this goal, GTI proposed to install a single borehole/well, MW-
201, to a targeted depth of 150 feet below grade surface The SJC PHS/EHD approved the
proposed work plan in a letter dated June 14, 2001
This report summarizes the additional soil and groundwater investigative work conducted
on October 22 — 25, 2001 A single soil boring was drilled at the site and converted into a
' discretely screened deep groundwater monitoring well A soil sample collected from the
boring by use of the SimulProbe`K'Tool tested positive for BTEX and TPH-G compounds at
a depth of 127 feet Pore water sampling was attempted with the SimulProbe Tool, but the
effort was not successful due to clay smearing on the tool
' Development and sampling of the new well, MW-201, is scheduled in December 2001
Data generated from this event will be included in the forthcoming "4`j' Quarter 2001
' Groundwater Monitoring Report" to be submitted in February 2002
1
