El Dorado St. <br /> ' Stockton, CA <br /> Project No 723 2 <br /> ' January 21, 2004 <br /> ' EXECUTIVE SUMMARY <br /> Geological Technics Inc has prepared the attached Report summarizing the fieldwork <br /> completed on November 20 - 26, 2003 This work involved the installation of three new <br /> multi-chambered monitoring wells to further define the vertical and lateral extent of the soil <br /> and groundwater plumes The new wells' boreholes were installed to the north, east, and <br /> southwest of the site across E Castle, N El Dorado and W Adams streets, respectively <br /> Soil samples obtained from the new borings indicate that the soil contamination is limited <br /> on-site to the area of the former dispenser island The extent of the groundwater <br /> contamination will be determined when the new multi-chambered monitoring wells are <br /> sampled This work is scheduled to be completed in the first quarter of 2004 <br />' Mr Jeff Wong of the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (SJC/EHD) <br /> supplied GTI staff with a copy of groundwater monitoring report for the Shell Service <br /> Station facility across N El Dorado Street The report indicates that an unauthorized release <br /> (leak) of gasoline has occurred at this facility and a co-mingled groundwater plume may be <br /> present GTI will reserve comment on the groundwater plume situation until after the initial <br /> groundwater sampling of the new wells is completed <br /> 1.0 SITE HISTORY <br /> In April 1987 the site's two 3,000-gallon gasoline underground storage tanks (UST) and one <br /> 150-gallon waste oil UST were removed (see Figure l Vicinity Map & Figure 2 Site Map) <br /> Analyses of soil samples from the UST excavations revealed that a petroleum hydrocarbon <br /> release had occurred The SJC/EHD subsequently directed Mr Valentine to begin an <br /> investigation to determine the extent of the petroleum release <br /> The following is a summary of worked performed at the site to date <br /> 1 <br />
