Cealogkol Tec%iccs t co
1101 74Street
Modesto,California 95354
(209)522-4119/Fax(209)522-4227
' REPORT
Additional Site Characterization
Soil & Groundwater Investigation
Valentine (Castle Motors)
2315 N. El Dorado St.
' Stockton, CA
Project No 723 2
May 9, 2006
MEXECUTIVE SUMMARY
' Geological Technics Inc has prepared the following Report for the site characterization field
activities completed on February 21 thru 23, 2006 Three (3) cone penetrometer borings were
advanced at the site to better define the down gradient extent of the groundwater plume
' Several discrete soil samples and groundwater samples were attempted in each boring
location
' The soils encountered during this mobilization were primarily fine grained silt/clay units with
lesser sands and gravels Some sand layers are present that have the potential to be
preferential migration pathways for contaminant transport and depths below 60 feet The
' laboratory results show that the groundwater plume is limited in lateral extent and appears to
attenuate to low levels in the locations of the three CPT borings advanced to the northeast
' east of the site It appears that the groundwater plume is co-mingled with releases from the
adjacent Shell Station across El Dorado Street
The contaminant distribution clarified in this investigation will be used to perform new mass
balance calculations and to develop a Site Conceptual Model (SCM) for the site
