Qealogkal Tech&a kc Page 6 <br /> Site Conceptual Model Report(2006 Revision) <br /> Valentine(Castle Motors) <br /> Project No 723 2 <br /> June 16,2006 <br /> ' • SB-2 Boring SB-2 soils were logged as ranging from clays to sandy loams The soils <br /> were dry to the total depth of 36 feet, and varied from grey to brown or mottled in color <br /> ' Sand cobbles to t/2" were noted at 20 feet that were suspected as fill material <br /> • SB-3 & SB-4 WJH logged borings SB-3 & SB-4 as containing soils similar to SB-1 & <br /> ' SB-2 above <br /> • MW-1 (SB-5) In boring MW-1 (SB-5), WJM described the soils as interbedded silts, <br /> clays and sands Soil colors ranged from brown to tan, with grey and molted soils also <br /> present The 20 foot sandy clay loam was described as ranging from grey to black in <br /> ' color Sandy/gravelly units were noted at 25 — 30 feet bgs, and soils below this level <br /> were predominantly clayey <br /> • MW-2 WJH logged boring MW-2 as predominantly clayey with sand layers noted at 15 <br /> ' and possibly 53 feet bgs The soil ranged in color from brown, reddish brown to grey <br /> hues The clays were described as friable or crumbly in strength and slightly plastic in <br /> ' toughness <br /> • MW-3 WJH logged boring MW-3 as similar to MW-2 but with more clayey sand units <br /> noted at 40 and 50 feet bgs <br /> • MW-4 WJH logged boring MW4 as predominantly clayey with sand layers noted at 25 <br /> feet bgs The soils ranged in color from brown to grey hues and iron staining was noted <br /> in the 25 foot sample <br /> • MW-5 WJH logged boring MW-5 as predominantly clayey with sand layers noted at 15 <br /> — 20 feet bgs The soil ranged in color from brown to grey hues with white inclusions <br /> noted at 45 feet The clays were described as plastic in this boring <br /> ' • MW-6 WJH logged boring MW-6 as sandy at 25 feet bgs The soils below this depth <br /> were predominantly clayey ranged in color from black,brown or grey hues <br /> • SB-B In boring SB-B, WJH described the soils as predominantly clayey with a coarse <br /> ' sand layer noted at 20 feet bgs Soil colors ranged as above with white inclusions noted <br /> at 35 feet and below They also ranged from dry to moist with clays ranging from moist <br /> and firm to plastic <br /> GTI logged the remainder of the borings- <br /> ' • SB-101/MW-101 The borehole exhibits a primarily clayey geology The clay is typically <br /> tan to brown and shows the presence of small amounts of fine-grained sand The clay <br /> ranges from plastic and soft to hard depending on moisture content A sand and gravel <br /> ' layer is present at approximately 20 feet bgs A heaving, fine to medium grained sand <br /> was encountered just below 70 feet and extending to 77 feet Another sand interval was <br /> noted at 97 — 99 feet bgs Samples from 100 to 111 feet were characterized as clays <br /> • MW-201 The borehole was free drilled to 110 feet due to its proximity to SB-101/MW- <br /> 101 The lithologic units documented between 108 — 117 feet bgs were typically brown <br /> silts and clays The clays ranged from plastic and soft to hard depending on moisture <br /> content 1t is suspected that sands are present in the 117 — 127 feet bgs interval based on <br /> the sand-mud plug found on the sampler tip during sampling attempts in this interval <br /> The remainder of the borehole was free drilled from 128 feet bgs to 155 feet bgs (27 feet) <br /> 1 <br />
