I
I f lYJ
T"K CLOSME ROM
21,20 North El Dorado Street,
Stockton, Caldfamis
"- Aegis Project No. 89-049
Page 16
3 4 ® SUMMARY
I 1) Initial analyses of soil samples collected from within the former
tankl, basin revealed detectable levels of petroleum hydrocarbons.
2) After over-excavation of approximately 150 cubic yards of soil,
sample analysis confirmed that over-excavation was successful in
removing hydrocarbon-bearing soil from the former tank basin.
3) Analysis of soil boring samples indicated detectable levels of
j petroleum hydrocarbons within the area of the proposed new tank
{ - basin location. However, sampling performed during excavation of
thelnew tank basin indicated non-detectable levels of petroleum
hydrocarbons.
! 1
1 4) Initial sampling of soils within specific areas of the product
line trenches and dispensing islands revealed detectable levels
n of petroleum hydrocarbons. Resampling of soil in these areas,
after over-excavation, confirmed soil quality to the extent that
the,I, SJCEHD allowed completion of construction of the facility.
.
"" 5) Review of analytical reports for soil samples from the new tank
basin by the SJCEHD-resulted in authorization to backfill the
former tank basin with sail excavated from the proposed new tank
location. All remaining stockpiled soil was sampled, '
characterized and hauled to the wCCSL for disposal.
6) Ancillary laboratory reports for analysis of product-line trench
soil samples by EPA method 8010 revealed the presence of three of
j the'Itwenty-eight analytes of halogenated volatile organics at
levels ranging from 5.0 ppb to 16.0 ppb.
Ii -
1
f
t
i
1,
