Infurna, Jr., Senior REHS
San Joaquin County =
Site Mitigation Unit IV/LOP '•
304 E. Weber Avenue, Third Floor
Stockton, California 95201-0388
Subject: Workplan For Soil Investigation
Proposed El Dorado Apartments Development
Stockton, California
Dear Mr. Infurna:
This workplan outlines procedures for the proposed assessment of potentially hydrocarbon-
contaminated soil encountered during recent geotechnical explorations by another firm at the
referenced site. Figures 1 and 2 are maps showing the location and layout of the site. This work
plan was prepared based on regulatory agency requirements and anticipated site subsurface
conditions. As our client is interested in beginning this work as soon as possible we would
appreciate your prompt review.
SITE BACKGROUND
The potentially hydrocarbon-contaminated soil was encountered in the southern portion of the site at
the approximate locations shown on Figure 2. According to information relayed by our client the
potentially hydrocarbon-contaminated soil was observed at depths of between 8 and 15 feet below
grade (Ibg) in the indicated borings.
The San Joaquin Assessor's Parcel Numbers for the site are 167-070-02 and—03. Currently, the site
is undeveloped. Recent site photos are appended to this document. The site is in an area of generally
mixed properties. Nearby businesses include the Heinz processing plant, a retail gasoline service
station, warehouses (used for flea markets). However, land in the area is also used for parks,
schools, and trailer parks. The site is bounded on its east and north sides by McKinley Park (a
municipal park),on its west side by El Dorado Street, and on the south by a developed parcel. The
developed parcel to the south is surfaced with asphalt pavements and there are three structures on it.
These structures include a vacant gasoline service station(at the extreme southwestern corner of that
parcel and some distance from the study site),a single-story,wood-frame structure, and a warehouse
structure (used for flea markets).
GEOTECHNICAL • ENVIRONMENTAL 9 CONSTRUCTION INSPECTION AND TESTING 0 CIVIL ENGINEERING 0 SURVEYING
