Advaiwed
GeoEnvironmental, Inc .
16 April 2003
AGE-NC Project No. 02-0946
Mr. Harlan Knoll ZOO'
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
304 East Weber Avenue, Third Floor
Stockton, CA 95201
Subject: Monitoring Well Installation Work Plan Addendum
Proposed El Dorado Apartments Development
2450 South El Dorado Street, Stockton, California
Dear Mr. Knoll:
As discussed during our telephone conversation on 16 April 2003,Advanced GeoEnvironmentai,Inc.
(AGE) has prepared this addendum to Monitoring Well Installation Work Plan, dated 17 January
2003, for advancing one soil boring at the proposed El Dorado Apartments Development located at
2450 South El Dorado Street, Stockton, California. AGE originally proposed advancing one soil
boring near the former UST area utilizing a truck-mounted drill rig equipped with hollow-stem
augers. However, due to conditions at the site, AGE is proposing to advance the boring utilizing a
GeoProbe"direct-push"probing unit equipped with 1.25-inch probing rods. The Geoprobe advances
soil probe borings using a hydraulic or pneumatic hammer to drive soil sampling tools to specified
depths.
The soil boring will be permanently sealed to prevent vertical migration of potential contaminants
and shall be abandoned by backfilling with a portland cement slurry from the total depth to surface
grade. The EHD will be notified for grout inspection at least 72 hours prior to conducting grouting
procedures.
Sincerely,
Advanced GeoEnvironmentai, Inc.
Paul B. Dotson
Staff Geologist
