i Ilyp
I
Report on Additional Excavation and Confirmation Soil Sampling
Bulk Transportation Facility, Stockton,California
Hygienetics Environmental Services Inc. k
kilogram to pounds, an estimated mass of 144 pounds of TPHd was removed ;from the 4
excavation. ?
a
4.0 CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION t
kk f!
4.1 Conclusion
Field visual observation during additional excavation of thel former pipeline trench i indicated
discolored soil had been removed from the subsurface. Photoionization detector readings of
excavated soil that was not discolored also showed no detectable diesel-hydrocarbon vapors. The
results of laboratory analyses of seven soil samples collected from the pipeline trench excavation
4 and the smaller excavation at the former location of the southern 'satellite dispenser;"show no
detectable concentrations of diesel hydrocarbons or the aromatic hydrocarbons 3'(BTEX).
Hygienetics concludes diesel-impacted soil resulting from releases along the former fuel pipeline r
has been removed and the potential for future impact to underlying ground water from this source
material has been mitigated.
r
4.2 Recommendation
ff
Hygienetics recommends a copy of this report be submitted to the San Joaquin County 1
Environmental Health Department with a cover letter requesting that the Environmental Health
Department recommend site closure to the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board.
Limitations to this report and investigation are included in Appendix C.
,t
5.0 REFERENCES CITED I
j3
1
Hygienetics Environmental Services, Inc., 2003.
