The number, <br /> locations,and depth of soil sample to be collected at the field must include San Joaquin County <br /> Environmental Health Department(EHD) comment and agzeernent. <br /> 2. EHD considers demonstration of vertical extent of soil contamination with at least two non-detect <br /> results from two consecutive 5-foot interval soil samples in the source area. <br /> 3. Soil samples should be collected using a slide hammer. Soil samples!must be collected in a thin-walled <br /> stainless steel or brass cylinder at least three inches long by one inch in diameter. No headspace <br /> should be present in the cylinder once the sample is collected- Each:end of the cylinder should be <br /> i labeled. The sample must be <br /> covered with Teflon and capped with a polyethylene Ltd,taped,and p <br /> immediately place in an ice chest and kept to at least 4 degree Centigrade. <br /> 4. If extensive soil contamination is discovered at the field,EHD does not recommend excavating more <br /> than 200 yards of soil. Excavation of excessive non-contaminated soil may not be eligible for <br /> 11 <br /> reimbursement from the State Clean Up Fund. <br /> 5.
