(Hygienetics)prepare a work plan proposing additional <br /> excavation and soil sampling at the Bulk Transportation Facility in Stockton, California. The <br /> purpose of the work will be to remove soil which .has been impacted with petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons and sample and test in-situ soil after excavation to confirm the affected soil has <br /> been removed. <br /> 1 <br /> f Hygieneticsproposes in this workplan to overexcavate soil beneath a former diesel fuel line and <br /> diesel dispenser until field observation indicates petroleum-impacted soil has been removed, <br /> { collect .samples at the base of the overexcavated areas, and analyze the samples for pertinent <br /> 4 petroleum hydrocarbon compounds. Following are descriptions of the site and of the proposed <br /> work. <br /> 1.1 Site Location and Description <br /> The Bulk Transportation facility is located at 3032 South El Dorado in Stockton, California at the <br /> approximate location shown on Plate 1. An office building is located at the southwestern corner <br /> of the site and a maintenance building is located near the center of the site. The remaining area of <br /> the site is paved with asphalt or concrete and is used for driveways or for storage of equipment <br /> and vehicles. A 12,000-gallon underground storage tank (UST), used to store diesel fiiel, and <br /> associated dispenser facilities were located in the southwestern portion of the site. <br /> 1.2 Description of Surface Features <br /> Elevation at the site is approximately 13 feet above mean sea level and surface topography in the <br /> general area slopes very gently from east to west. Nearby surface waters include Duck Creek s <br /> which flows westward into Walker Slough approximately 500 feet north of the site. French Camp <br /> Slough flows northwestward into Walker Slough and at its closest point is within 2,000 feet of the <br /> site (see Plate 1). The sloughs flow into the San Joaquin River, which flows northward <br /> approximately 7,000 feet west of the site. <br />
