projects and from sampling on 20 April 2000. From these data we can conclude:
4.2. 1 . Waste Oil USTs
All groundwater samples, MW-2, B-3 and B-4 evidenced contamination from gasoline, BTEX
(partial) and MTBE. Contamination levels were reasonably comparable, indicating that the
contaminants have dispersed fairly widely, probably beyond B-4 (45 ft. ) and 13-3 (20 ft.).
Analysis of MW-2 sampled on 20 April 2000 shows contamination from motor oil, gasoline,
BTEX, MTBE, DIPE and diesel . The former waste oil USTs are an apparent source of
groundwater contamination from a number of petroleum hydrocarbons.
4.2. 2. Diesel USTs
Both MW- 1 and MW-3 evidenced diesel contamination and MW- I also had low levels of ethyl
benzene and xylenes. MTBE was not present in groundwater from either MW- 1 or MW-3 .
It appears that diesel contamination has spread in the groundwater from MW- 1 to MW-3
(approximately 87 ft.).
The recent sampling on 20 April 2000 confirmed the contamination in both MW- I and MW-3 .
Curiously, the level of diesel contamination in MW-3 dropped to less than half the level in the
earlier sampling, while the level of diesel contamination in MW- 1 increased slightly.
5. 0 SURVEY OF WELLS
This survey was completed in Jan 1999, and repeated from the Work Plan dated 28 Jan 1999 .
A survey of domestic, municipal, agricultural, industrial and any other wells within a 2000 foot
radius of the site (Figure 4) was conducted by EI' s subcontractor, Helmick and Lerner.
Additionally, EI contacted municipal water suppliers, nearby industries and the San Joaquin
County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division to complete the survey of wells
within 2000 feet of 3105 South El Dorado Street. It was determined that California Water
Services does not have municipal wells within this radius.
EI contacted the San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division and
reviewed the soil and groundwater files for Cove Contractors, Inc. and Heinz USA, it was
Environeering, Inc. Project No, 00-005.05 Page 3
