The SSO would monitor contaminant gases or vapor <br /> concentrations in the breathing zone using a photoionization detector, flame <br /> ionization detector, or Draeger tube and pump. <br /> Limiting Criteria: <br /> • Atmosphere contains at least 19.5 percent oxygen; <br /> • The types of air contaminants have been identified and the concentrations <br /> measured, and a cartridge is available that can remove the contaminants; <br /> • Airborne contaminants possess properties that warn of exposure ; and <br /> • Atmosphere concentration of chemicals must not exceed the IDLH/PEL levels . <br /> LEVEL B PROTECTION <br /> Required PPE: <br /> • NIOSH-approved full-face SCBA or full-face constant flow airline respirator, <br /> equipped with a separate NIOSH approved 10-minute emergency escape <br /> breathing apparatus.
