Site Health and Safety Plan <br /> California Tank Lines Facility <br /> Sierra-Pacific Project No. 96-620.01 <br /> 9.0 EXPOSURE MONITORING PLAN <br /> The SSO shall obtain the necessary monitoring equipment prior to work initiation. Other <br /> equipment deemed necessary by the SSO prior to work 'initiation shall be obtained at his <br /> direction. The SSO shall also ensure that these instruments are used only by persons who have <br /> had prior experience with their care, calibration, and operations and who know their limitations. <br /> No work shall be done unless this instrumentation is available and in proper working order. <br /> 9.1 Direct Reading Instruments <br /> Air monitoring should be performed throughout the duration of work at the site. Direct- <br /> reading monitoring equipment such as Draeger Tubes or a photoionization detector (PID) will <br /> be used in accordance with following: <br /> Equipment: Photoionization detector <br /> Location (s) of Use: Within immediate work area <br /> When to Use: During work <br /> Action Level: 100 ppm <br /> Action: Upgrade personal protection to Level C when PID meter reading exceeds <br /> 100 ppm in breathing zone of site workers.
