Site Health and Safety Plan <br /> California Tank Lines Facility <br /> Sierra-Pacific Project No. 96-620.01 <br /> 10.0 SrM AND ENGINEERING CONTROLS <br /> Operations shall be conducted in a safe manner consistent with the policies and procedures <br /> outlined in this H&SP. The number of personnel shall be restricted to the minimum necessary <br /> to complete the required work as an administrative control to limit personnel exposures to site <br /> chemical hazards. <br /> 10.1 Work Site Practices <br /> The prohibited practices and general safety requirements listed in Section 5 .0 are applicable to <br /> this site work. In addition, no worker may engage in any activity for which the health and safety <br /> consequences of his/her actions are unclear (e .g. , previously unplanned work) without the <br /> approval of the SSO . If such activities become necessary to complete any phase of the work, <br /> a project instruction or procedure shall be developed and followed. <br /> Smoking will not be permitted in any restricted work location. <br /> 10.2 Work Zones <br /> Work area access at each site shall be controlled to reduce the possibility of entry by <br /> unauthorized or unprotected individuals, and to prevent the transfer of contaminants by <br /> personnel or equipment from the site. The PPE will be doffed prior to exiting the site. <br /> 10.3 Hazard Control Measures <br /> Specific considerations shall be given to the following topics to ensure that adequate hazard <br /> control measures are implemented for site operations: <br /> • Minimization of dust generation; <br /> • Prevention of surface contamination by material from the tanks or vice versa; <br /> Sierra-Pacific Groundwater Consultants, Inc. 25 <br />
