Vicki McCartney [EH]
From: Tom Ballard [TBallard@taberconsultants.com]
Sent: Wednesday, May 19, 2010 2:47 PM
To: Vicki McCartney [EH]
Cc: Martin Wills
Subject: RE: California Tank Line site
Vicki:
Sorry for the delay, but here is the update:
1.) Sensitive Receptor Survey —we are in the field today following up on and confirming some well locations.
The report is pretty much done so I anticipate having that to you by the end of the week or early next
week.
2.) Report Revisions —we had some challenges with all the historical soil sampling data, but I think we have
all that handled now. The revised reports are in final review and should be uploaded to Geotracker by the
beginning of next week.
3.) Work Plan —Guy Roy is doing the bulk of the work on this and he should have the draft to me for my
review by the end of the week, hopefully. The work plan will include information on installing the
adsorbent material in MW-2 and will address the update to the Human Health Risk Assessment using the
new DTSC petroleum hydrocarbon fractionation guidelines and the Natural Attenuation Assessment to
address the area around MW-4. Also, there is some question on whether MW-1 is actually silted in, as
had been discussed in our meeting, and that will be addressed in the work plan, as well.
I believe that addresses everything, but if I have missed anything, please let me know.
Thomas E. Instead, a new work plan would be submitted by Taber to address
the free product found in MW-2, and the delineation of the petroleum hydrocarbon contamination detected in
groundwater collected from MW-4. It has been nearly six weeks and our department has not received a work
plan. Our department also needs the sensitive receptor survey report, and the contaminant mass estimates,
and reports to GeoTracker must be uploaded. Please provide me with the timeline for completing these tasks.
Thank you.
5/19/2010
