Please
submit the report for samples collected in March 2013 to the EHD and GeoTracker immediately.
Also note that the report for the semi-annual sampling event completed in September 2013
must be submitted to the EHD and GeoTracker within sixty days of the sampling event-
By letter dated 06 December 2012, the EHD directed that free product be removed monthly
from monitoring well MW-2 and the quantity of floating product removed each month be
reported in the semi-annual reports. This information is needed to demonstrate that free
product is being removed expeditiously from this site, and to resolve one of the impediments to
closure for your site. The EHD now directs that quarterly, instead of semi-annually, a brief letter
that summarizes the quantity of floating product submitted each month be reported to this
agency.
Two grab groundwater samples collected in October 2010 contained dissolved lead at
concentrations of 310 micrograms per liter (pg/L) (GP-1-GW) and 83 pg/L (GP-2-GW),
concentrations that exceed Federal and California Maximum Contaminant Levels (MCLs) of 15
pg/L, and 2013 Tier 1 Environmental Screening Levels (ESLs) of 2.5 pg/L. During the next
groundwater sampling event only, analyze the groundwater samples from all five monitoring
wells for lead to hopefully resolve this potential concern. Also analyze the groundwater from all
five monitoring wells for naphthalene during the next sampling event.
The Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (Regional Board) requires that if soil
samples were not analyzed for specific contaminants during the removal of waste oil tanks, then
before the Regional Board will consider the site for- closure, groundwater samples must be
