REPORT OF INVESTIGATION <br /> OF THE EXTENT OF CONTf4MINATION FROM FORMER <br /> DIESEL UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANKS <br /> 10 INTRODUCTION <br /> Two (2) waste oil underground storage tanks (USTs) were removed from California Tank <br /> Lines, Inc 's (Cal Tk) South El Dorado Street site in 1990 An investigation of the extent <br /> of contamination from this source was conducted by Sierra-Pacific Groundwater <br /> Consultants, Inc (S-P) and reported in the Report of Investigation dated 4 February 1997 <br /> This involved installation of four (4) bore holes, one of which was converted to a <br /> groundwater monitoring well <br /> Two-10,000 gallon diesel USTs were removed from the site by Station Equipment Co , <br /> Inc (SECI) on 4 September 1998 In a letter dated 9 October 1998, the San Joaquin <br /> County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division (the County) requested <br /> that steps be taken to define the extent of contamination by hydrocarbon fuels reportedly <br /> released from the two (2) diesel underground storage tanks removed from the site <br /> In response to the County's request, California Tank Lines, Inc contracted Environeering, <br /> Inc (EI) A Work Plan dated 28 January 1999 was prepared by EI to describe the <br /> proposed scope of this investigation This Work Plan was reviewed and approved by the <br /> County This report presents the findings of that investigation <br /> 2.0 SITE DESCRIPTION <br /> The subject site is located in the southern part of the City of Stockton, California (Figures <br /> 1 and 2) The site is an essentially level commercial trucking facility, which contains an <br /> office building, two truck maintenance shops, a wash rack with wastewater pretreatment, <br /> a small above-ground storage tank compound, a vehicle fueling facility and a large <br /> I parking area for tank trailers <br /> Environeering.Inc.
