Report of investigation <br /> Former Underground Storage Tanks <br /> 3105 South El Dorado Street,Stockton California <br /> Sierra-Pacific Project No 96-620 01 <br /> 3 0 SCOPE OF WORK <br />' The purpose of the current investigation has been to determine the extent of the reported release of <br /> hydrocarbons (gasoline) from the former USTs at the site Impacts to soils and to ground water in the <br />' vicinity of the former tanks were assessed in accordance with the Tri-Regional Guidelines A California- <br /> licensed (C-57) drilling contractor was hired to advance the soil borings, collect soil samples, and <br />' constrict a ground-water monitoring well at the locations indicated on Figures 3 through 6 Excavation, <br /> logging, and sampling of four soil borings, and construction of a ground water monitonng well in one <br />' of these borings was completed in the vicinity of the former UST excavation on November 11 through <br /> 14, 1996 Logging of the borings was completed by a geologist registered in the State of California <br /> Soil samples were collected in each of the four soil borings Nine soil samples were analyzed as <br /> described below for petroleum hydrocarbons Grab samples of ground water were taken in two of the <br /> soil borings The new ground water monitonng well was developed,purged,and sampled As described <br />' below,the three ground-water samples were analyzed for petroleum hydrocarbons The final task m this <br /> investigation was analysis of the data obtained, and the preparation of this report and the attendant <br />' tables, figures, and appendices <br /> 3.1 Field Preparations <br /> Field preparations at the site included a pre-construction meeting with Sierra-Pacific personnel and the <br />' drilling contractor A monitonng well drilling permit was obtained from the County CTL was notified <br /> so that they could help locate underground pipelines, cables, wires, etc , that might have been present <br />' near the proposed drill locations Interviews were conducted with long-time on-site employees <br /> regarding utility line locations and other subsurface improvements, prior to drilling <br /> 3 2 Drilling Logging, and Soil Sample Collection <br /> A California-licensed drilling contractor(C-57 license) was contracted to drill and sample the borings, <br /> and to construct the monitoring well Bore holes for monitoring wells were drilled using a truck- <br /> Sierra-Pacific Groundwater Consultants, Inc 4 <br />
