(AGE) by letter dated February 13 , 2009 . AGE has requested a reduction in sampling of all
wells to an annual event. To support the appearance that the groundwater plume is stable, AGE
has included analytical results for groundwater samples collected quarterly at your site from
December 1999, to August 2008 .
The EHD concurs that the analytical data demonstrate that the petroleum hydrocarbon plume
appears to be stable. Therefore, the EHD approves the following sampling schedule.
• Collect groundwater samples from monitoring wells MW- 1 and MW-7 semi-annually
and analyze the samples for total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as diesel (TPH-d);
total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g); benzene, toluene, ethyl
benzene, and total xylenes (BTEX); methyl tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE); 1 ,2-
dichloroethane ( 1 ,2-DCA); and tertiary-amyl methyl ether (TAME).
• Collect groundwater samples annually from monitoring wells MW-2, MW-4, MW-5 ,
MW-6, MW-8A, MW-813, MW-9A, MW- 10A, MW-1013, and MW- IOC and analyze
the samples for TPH-g, BTEX, MTBE, 1 ,2-DCA, and TAME.
• Collect groundwater samples biennially from monitoring wells MW-8C, MW-9B,
MW-912, MW-9D, MW- IOD, MW- 11A, MW- 1113 , MW- 11C MW- 11D, MW- 12A.
MW- 12B, MW- 12C, and MW- 12D and analyze the samples for TPH-g, BTEX, MTBE,
1 ,2-DCA, and TAME. (Please note that the analysis of total petroleum hydrocarbons
quantified as kerosene (TPH-k) has been removed from the analytical list.)
To determine groundwater flow direction, collect depth-to-water measurements from wells
screened within the first water zone (MW- 1 , MW-2, MW-4, MW-6, MW-7, MW-9A MW-10A,
MW- 11A and MW-12A) when sampling wells MW- 1 and MW-7 semi-annually.
