. I
M
16 August 2011
AGE-NC Project No . 97-0301
3 .4 . 2. DPE-Ground Water Extraction Monitoring
During the "start-up" period for the DPE system , pre-treatment (post DPE) , intermediate
(between each carbon vessel ) and post-treatment DPE-ground water samples will be
collected from sampling ports ; DPE-ground water operational parameters (i . e , depth to
water, water totalizer (total gallons), pressure gauge readings, pH , temperature) will be
monitored on a daily basis . The anticipated start-up period will be approximately one
'i week. Following the start-up period , the DPE-ground water extraction system will be
monitored , at a minimum , on a weekly basis and samples will be collected at a minimum
on a monthly basis .
DPE ground water samples from the pump and treat system influent, effluent and
intermediate stages will be collected and submitted to a State of California CDPH-certified
laboratory for analysis of the following constituents :
• TPH-g and TPH-d in accordance with EPA Method 8015 Modified/5030/3550 ; and
• BTEX, MTBE , ETBE , TAME , DIPE, TBA, 1 ,2-DCA and EDB in accordance with
'i EPA 8260 ,
Laboratory reports for ground water analysis , testing methods , laboratory QA/QC reports,
and sample chain of custody documentation will be presented in quarterly reports .
3 .4 . 3. DPE-System Maintenance
The DPE system components will be maintained on a weekly basis according to
manufacturers recommendations (i . e , lubrication , oil changing , system adjustments, etc. ).
After stabilization , routine maintenance would represent the only periods of "down time' for
the unit. One to two times each month (assuming 24-hour operation ), the unit will be shut
down for routine maintenance procedures such as oil/filter changing , maintenance and
system inspections and adjustments .
3, 5 . REPORT PREPARATION
Quarterly reports will be prepared presenting the findings from DPE activities. The quarterly
reports will include a description of work performed and the results of the DPE influent and
effluent soil-vapor analysis and DPE ground water analysis. Conclusions and
recommendations will also be included in the reports, if applicable . The report will be in a
format acceptable to CRWQCB guidelines, and will be reviewed and signed by a California
Professional Geologist.
Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc.
