26 July 1999
. AGE-NC Project No 97-0301
are Included in Appendix B
The estimated extent of dissolved TPH-g concentrations and of dissolved TPH-d concentrations are
depicted In plan view in Figure Nos 5 and 6, respectively
5.0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
Based on review of a regional ground water elevation map published by the SJCFCD,the prevailing
' ground water flow direction in South Stockton Is generally toward the northeast
Based upon data collected on 03 June 1999, AGE concludes the following
1 • First encountered ground water is approximately 371/2 feet bsg, first observed saturated soil
was encountered at 40 feet bsg
' • General lithology beneath the site is depicted in cross sectional view on Figures 3 and
consists of brown, damp to moist, fine sandy silt was encountered from 5 feet bsg to depths
. of approximately 10 feet bsg Between 10 feet bsg and 20 feet bsg, a brown, damp to moist,
silty fine sand was encountered A brown, damp to moist, fine sandy silt was encountered
from 20 feet bsg to depths of approximately 30 feet bsg Between 30 feet bsg and 40 feet bsg,
a brown, moist to saturated, silty fine sand was encountered At depths in excess of 40 feet
bsg, a brown, moist to saturated, silty fine sand/fine sandy silt was encountered
• Faint to intense petroleum hydrocarbon odor and vapor were noted in soil and grab ground
water samples collected from probings P-1, P-2 and P-4
• The approximate horizontal and vertical extent of petroleum-impacted soil Is depicted on
' Figure 4 and is based on laboratory data and field evidence noted on boring logs (I a vapor
detection, petroleum odor)
• TPH-g was detected In soil samples collected from probe boring P-1 at concentrations
ranging as high as 330 mg/kg, TPH-d was detected in soil samples collected from P-1 at
concentrations ranging as high as 190 mg/kg The estimated extent of adsorbed TPH is
' depicted in cross sectional view A -A'in Figure 4
• The laboratory reported that unmodified or weakly modified gasoline was significant In soil
and ground water samples analyzed, the laboratory reported that the diesel chromatograms
for the samples did not have typical diesel characteristics, that gasoline range compounds
were significant and that the medium boiling point patterns did not match diesel, but were
more typical of kerosene in the TPH-d soil and ground waters
• BTEX compounds were detected in soil samples collected from P-1 and P-4 at
Adranred GeoEm iron mental,Inc
1
