= GEOTHASE
ENVIRONMENTAL
Corrective Action Plan
Cutter Lumber/Western Lift Site
3930 S. El Dorado
Stockton, California
December 12,2003
GPE Project No. 102.3
CWRCB GID Code T0607700498
.r
1.0 INTRODUCTION
A gasoline release at the site has impacted the soil and groundwater. The lateral and vertical
extent of the release has been characterized. Long term groundwater monitoring data indicate
that natural attenuation is not adequately mitigating the groundwater plume. This corrective
action plan (CAP) is intended to describe methods and protocols to be used to construct and
operate an engineered remedial system.
1.1 Current Site Status
Prior work at this site has shown that two separate releases have occurred at widely separated
parts of the Property from two separate former tank settings. The initial remedial
investigation focused upon a release from former tanks located near the south end of the
Property, and this release has been deemed adequately mitigated. During a groundwater
monitoring work associated with this release, unexpected groundwater contamination was also
identified several hundred feet north of the original release site, and subsequent investigation
revealed the existence of another, previously unknown UST release. A former leaking
underground gasoline storage tank impacted the soil and groundwater with gasoline range
petroleum hydrocarbons. The vertical and lateral extent of the gasoline impacted soil and
groundwater has been deemed adequately defined and the available data suggest that the
contaminant plume is stable and has not migrated off of the Property except in a small area to
the west under El Dorado Street. The continued high levels of gasoline and volatile organic
hydrocarbons present in groundwater samples collected from on-site wells, however, suggest
that natural attenuation is not adequately mitigating the groundwater plume. This Corrective
Action Plan is submitted pursuant to the recommendations of our document entitled,Report—
2937 Veneman Ave.,#13240 Geo-Phase Environmental Inc.
