INTRODUCTION
In accordance with a request from Mr. John Urrutia of the Bank of Stockton, Advanced
GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE) has prepared this Quarterly Report summarizing field activities
performed during the second quarter of 1995 at 3430 South El Dorado Street in Stockton, California
(Figure 1).
2.0. BACKGROUND
2.1. SITE LOCATION
The site is located in a flat industrial area south of Stockton. The facility consists of a large warehouse
• and adjoining office and exterior fenced parking/delivery area(Figure 2). Cutter Lumber is located
' to the north of the site, and currently manufactures wooden pallets.
2.2. UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK REMOVAL
Three underground tanks were removed from the site in 1991. Petroleum hydrocarbons were detected
' in three of the seven soil samples collected from the UST excavation, indicating that an unauthorized
release of hydrocarbons had occurred. The San Joaquin County Public Health Services
Environmental Health Division(PHS/EHD) required an assessment of the site.
2.3. EXCAVATION
Hydrocarbon impacted soil was removed from the UST excavation in two phases. Each phase
consisted of overexcavation followed by the collection and analysis of soil samples from the walls and
floor of the excavation. The excavation phases and sampling were described in the Preliminary,
Investigation and Evaluation Report prepared by Geological Audit Services, Inc. (GAS). On 1 May
1992, the excavation was backfilled to grade with pea-gravel.
