'(GeoAudit) collected soil
samples to characterized the excavated soil at the referenced site.
On 17 April 1992, 37 soil samples were collected from
approximately 925 cubic yards of excavated soil at the referenced
site. One sample was collected for every 25 cubic yards of soil.
The samples were collected using a metric soil sampler loaded with
two pre-cleaned 2 . 5 by 3 inch brass tubes. The ends of the lead
tube were covered with aluminum sheets, capped, sealed with tape
and stored on ice. Figure 3 shows the locations of the soil
samples.
The samples were then transported to a state certified laboratory
and analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH as gasoline and
diesel) and purgable aromatics (BTE&X) in accordance with EPA
methods 8015 and 8020. The analytical results and chain of custody
are attached herewith.
The analytical result show that the soil can be characterized into
two categories: soil that shows TPH as gasoline or diesel greater
than 100 ug/g (ppm) and soil that shows TPH as gasoline or diesel
less than 100 ppm (see Figure 3 - Soil Sample Locations) .
A representative of the Bank of Stockton, Mr. Ron Rinehart, has
made arrangements to transport the contaminated soil as unregulated
waste to appropriate landfills. All contaminated soil- that showed
TPH as gasoline or diesel greater than 100 ppm (approximately 475
cu. yds. ) will be transported to BFI Waste Management Systems in
1 Livermore. Soil that showed TPH contamination less than 100 ppm
(approximately 450 cu. yds. ) will be transported to Forward, Inc.
in Stockton. It is our understanding that MP Environmental will
lead and haul the contaminated soil to the landfills.
Environmental Services• Hydrogeology.Geotechnical Services
