1
1
PHASE ONE
ENVIRONMENTAL
I
1 REPORT
1 Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring
Autumn Quarter 1996
1 Western Lift Facility
3430 South El Dorado Street
' Stockton, California
Project No 102 2
' December 27, 1996
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
' This report summarizes the Autumn quarter 1996 round of groundwater monitoring and
testing that took place on December 12, 1996 The test results showed that low levels of
aromatic organic compounds (BTEX), specifically benzene were present in wells MW-1
' and MW-4 No petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH-G or D) were present in any of the three
wells which were tested in this round These results indicate a resumption of the trend to
generally decreasing levels of hydrocarbon contaminants after anomalously high
' contaminant levels were detected in the well MW-1 on September 3 and 16, 1996 The
groundwater bearing and gradient is consistent with past events
' 1.0 GROUNDWATER MONITORING
' 1.1 Hydrology of Site
On December 12, 1996, the average depth to groundwater was measured to be
' approximately 36 feet below surface (or 20 69 feet below MSL) Groundwater has risen
about one foot since the previous monitoring event of September 3, 1996, and the
groundwater gradient was 0 0044 ft/ft, flowing North 381 East (Figure 2) The bearing
and gradient of groundwater flow measurements are generally consistent with the results
of past monitoring events (Table 1 Appendix A)
I
