The test results
showed that low levels volatile organic compounds (BTEX) are still detectable in
two of the wells (MW-1 & MW-4) Although there is no existing monitoring well
directly down gradient, the contaminant levels are consistent with past
monitoring events, there is a clear trend toward decreasing contaminant
concentration The groundwater gradient and bearing are similar to that
reported in the November 29, 1996 event
I1.0 GROUNDWATER MONITORING
1.1 Hydrology of Site
On March 28, 1996, the average depth to groundwater was measured to be
approximately 31 feet below surface (or 17 32 feet below MSL). Groundwater
has decreased an average of almost 6 feet since the previous monitoring event of
December 19, 1995. Indeed, the groundwater level has never been observed as
high as it was in the monitoring event The groundwater gradient was 0 0013
