' Bank of Stockton - Cutter Lumber Site Page 6 Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring Report ' Project No 102 2 February 25,2003 ' 3.0 DISCUSSION ' 3 1 Discussion of Data ' Field and analytical data results are summarized in Tables 1 and 2 and illustrated in Figures 3 through 5 ' The map of the groundwater surface (Figure 3) suggests that the flow of groundwater is to the northeast The water table has risen over a foot since the last monitoring event in September of 2002 The direction and gradient of flow ' have remained generally consistent over the entire time the wells have been monitored ' In general, the analytic data suggest that contaminant levels are gradually decreasing except in the area of MW-8B and MW-7, near the core of the plume It appears that the lateral extent of the contaminant plume may also be ' gradually decreasing The wells MW-10 and MVP-11, at the distal periphery of the plume have been producing samples with non-detectible levels to petroleum • contaminants 3.2 Future Work Schedule ' Quarterly groundwater monitoring and sampling should continue Sometime ago, Geo-Phase Environmental submitted a Work Plan that proposed pilot level ' remedial work to investigate possible methods to achieve an adequate level of mitigation of this site The Work Plan was approved by the LOP agency, and on February 7, 2002 a detailed budget covering the work was submitted to the ' State UST Clean-up Fund for pre-approval of the associated costs The pre- approval request was dust recently granted and the work has begun Two new service wells were construct on February 21, 2003 The wells will be used in the ' pilot test, which will commence after the surface facilities have been constructed I ' 2937 Veneman Ave ,#B240 Geo-Phase Environmental Inc Phone (209) 569-0293 Modesto, CA 95356 Fax (209) 569-0293 1
