Bank of Stockton Cutter Lumber Site Page 4 <br /> Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring Report <br />' Project No 102 2 <br /> July 5,2001 <br />' Extreme care was exercised while collecting samples to prevent agitation of the <br /> water contained in the bailer Water samples were transferred from the bailer <br /> into 40 ml VOA vials preserved with hydrochloric acid (provided by the <br />' analytical laboratory) All samples were checked for head space bubbles, labeled, <br /> inserted into foam holders and placed in an ice chest cooled to 4°C for transport <br />' to the laboratory <br /> Gasoline contaminated purge & rinseate water generated during the activities <br />' described above was stored in poly drums located on the site American Valley <br /> Environmental will remove this material prior to the next scheduled depth to <br /> water measuring event <br /> 1 <br /> 2.2 Groundwater Sample Analyses <br /> Groundwater samples were analyzed as follows <br /> • Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as Gasoline (TPH-G) by EPA method <br />' 5030/8015(m) <br /> • Benzene Toluene, Ethylbenzene and total Xylene (BTEX) by EPA method 602 <br /> The detection hmits are included in the summary analytical data table(Table 2) <br /> Detectable levels of gasoline range petroleum hydrocarbons and/or BTEX <br />' compounds were found in four (4) of the eight (8) water samples that were <br /> collected <br />' 2.3 Field Data <br /> The field data for this groundwater monitoring event are summarized in <br />' Appendix B and Table 1 The level of groundwater has risen about 1Y2 feet since <br /> the groundwater monitoring event completed in March of 2001 The bearing of <br /> the groundwater flow has remained generally consistent Groundwater gradient <br />' calculations for MW-6, 10 & 11 yield the following gradients and directions <br /> Table: Groundwater Gradient, 1999, 2000 & 2001 <br />' Date Gradient, Direction/Slope <br /> January 19, 1999 N430E, 0 0024 ft/ft <br /> March 2, 1999 N540E, 0 0017 ft/ft <br />' March 24, 1999 N45°E, 0 0023 ft/ft <br /> July 7, 1999 N40-E, 0 0038 ft/ft <br /> October 10, 1999 N480E, 0 0046 ft/ft <br />' January 20, 2000 N400E, 0 0021 ft/ft <br /> .
