' Bank of Stockton-Cutter Lumber Site Page 5
Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring Report
Project No 102 2
January 24, 2001
3.0 DISCUSSION
' 31 Discussion of Data
Field and analytical data results are summarized in Tables 1 and 2 and illustrated in Figures 3
through 5
' The map of groundwater gradient (Figure 3) suggests that the flow of groundwater is to the
northeast The water table has fallen over 3 feet since the seasonal high measured on April
25, 2000 The direction and gradient of flow have remained generally consistent over the
' entire time the wells have been monitored
In general, the analytic data suggest that contaminant levels are gradually decreasing except
' in the area of MW-8B, near the core of the plume It appears that the lateral extent of the
contaminant plume may also be gradually decreasing The wells MW-10 and MW-11, at the
distal periphery of the plume have been producing samples with essentially non-detectible
' levels to petroleum contaminants
3.2 Future Work Schedule
Quarterly groundwater monitoring and sampling should continue By informal agreement
with the PHS-EHD, additional work pertaining to engineered remedial action has been held
' in abeyance pending the results of a feasibility study at the former Manna Pro facility, which
is adjacent to the south The two sites share many characteristics and it is suspected that the
eventual remedial action will also be similar at the two sites Geo-Phase recently completed
' the Feasibility Study for the Manna Pro site The Feasibility Study evaluated several possible
remedial alternatives, and simultaneous vapor extraction and air sparging was identified as
the alternative most likely to provide a cost-effective method of mitigating the release A
Corrective Action Plan will be submitted in the near future to propose methods and protocols
for the construction and operation of the selected remedial alternative at the Manna Pro
' release site The FHS-EHD staff have elected to monitor progress at the Manna Pro site for
the time being, before directing that a Corrective Action Plan be developed for this site
1
I2937 Veneman Ave,NB240 Geo-Phase Environmental Inc Phone(209)569-0293
Modesto,CA 95356 Fax(209)569-0293
