IBank of Stockton- Cutter Lumber Site Page 4
Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring Report
Project No 102 2
August 15,2000
into 40 ml VOA vials preserved with hydrochloric acid (provided by the
analytical laboratory) All samples were checked for head space bubbles, labeled,
inserted into foam holders and placed in an ice chest cooled to 40C for transport
' to the laboratory
After collection, the groundwater samples were temporarily stored in Del-Tech's
Irefrigerator pending pick-up and transfer by the laboratory courier A
mechanical malfunction occurred, and the samples froze, thus breaking the glass
' containers This necessitated re-sampling the wells Del-Tech personnel
subsequently re-mobilized to the location and re-sampled the monitoring wells
on July 21, 2000 By the direction of the representative from the San Joaquin
' County PHS-EHD, only one casing volume was purged from each well prior to
re-collecting each sample Otherwise the purging and sampling techniques were
as described above
' Gasoline contaminated purge & rinseate water generated during the activities
described above was stored in poly drums located on the site American Valley
' Environmental will remove this material prior to the next scheduled depth to
water measuring event Documentation of the disposal of purge water from the
last monitoring event is herein attached as Appendix C
2.2 Groundwater Sample Analyses
Groundwater samples were analyzed as follows
• Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as Gasoline (TPH-G) by EPA method
' 5030/8015(m)
• Benzene Toluene, Ethelbenzene and total Xylene (BTEX) by EPA method 602
The detection limits are included in the summary analytical data table ('Fable 2)
Detectable levels of gasoline range petroleum hydrocarbons and/or BTEX
compounds were found in water samples from all but two of the wells which
' were sampled
2.3 Field Data
The field data for this groundwater monitoring event are summarized in
' Appendix B and Table 1 The level of groundwater has fallen almost two feet
since the groundwater monitoring event completed in April of this year The
bearing of the groundwater flow has remained generally consistent
Groundwater gradient calculations for MW-6, 10 & 11 yield the following
gradients and directions
2937 Veneman Ave ,#B240 Geo-Phase Environmental Inc.
