' Bank of Stockton- Cutter Lumber Site Page 6
Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring Report
Project No 102 2
August 15,2000
3.0 DISCUSSION
' 3.1 Discussion of Data
' Field and analytical data results are summarized in Tables 1 and 2 and
illustrated in Figures 3 through 5
The map of groundwater gradient (Figure 3) suggests that the flow of
groundwater is to the northeast The water table has fallen almost two feet
since the monitoring event in April of this year The direction and gradient of
' flow have remained generally consistent over this entire time the wells have
been monitored
In general, the analytic data suggest that contaminant levels are gradually
decreasing except in the area of MW-8B It appears that the lateral extent of the
' contaminant plume may also be gradually decreasing
3.2 Future Work Schedule
Quarterly groundwater monitoring and sampling should continue By informal
agreement with the PHS-EHD, additional work pertaining to engineered
' remedial action has been held in abeyance pending the results of a feasibility
study at the former Manna Pro facility which is adjacent to the south The two
sites share many characteristics and it is suspected that the eventual remedial
' action will also be similar at the two sites Geo-Phase recently issued a report of
the results of a pilot vapor extraction and air sparge remedial test This
information will be incorporated into a follow-up feasibility study which will
' evaluate several possible remedial alternatives and identify the alternative most
likely to provide a cost-effective method of mitigating the release This
feasibility study will be completed in the near future At that time, a more
' informed determination can also be made as to the further course mitigation
efforts in the release
1
2937 Veneman Ave,#13240 Geo-Phase Environmental Inc Phone (209) 569-0293
Modesto, CA 95356 Fax (209) 569-0293
I
