Report—Remedial Action Feasibility page 17 Cutter Lumber—Western Lift Site I GPF Project No 102 3 August 1,2003 { 7.4 WATER WELL SURVEY 1 In order to further assess the potential for human exposure to residual hydrocarbon contaminants, a survey of all water production wells within 2,000 feet of the point of release was completed (see Figure 1) The water well survey was completed in two steps, a records search, and a physical search 7.1 Records Search The California Water Resource Control Board is responsible for keeping records of driller's logs and other records of water wells A request was made of the agency to provide the location of any well, which may exist within a radius of 2,000 feet of the point of release In response, data sheets for all wells in the vicinity were sent to Geo- Phase Environmental Most of the wells identified in the records search were located outside of the area of 2000-foot search radius Figure 1 shows a portion of the USGS topographic map covering the area and a circle, which depicts the search area, has been superimposed on the map The water production wells in the search area have been posted on the map In order to supplement the records search described above, the City of Stockton was contacted to request the locations of their municipal water wells Examination of the water well locations did not indicate that any such well falls within in the 2,000-foot 10 search radius A search of available records of water wells was completed by requesting access to records on file with the State Water Resource Control Board The relevant USGS map for the area was also reviewed to determine if any wells are identified on them From the records search, water well logs for 9 wells were clearly outside the search area and a total of 13 water production wells (listed below), were identified which within or might be within the applicable search radius %2 a mile south of Clayton Avenue 3501 Mourfield Road 294 West Clayton Avenue 3506 Harvey Avenue 3267 McKinley Avenue 3509 Harvey Avenue 3428 Mourfield Road 3511 Harvey Avenue 3456 Russell Avenue 3607 Harvey Avenue 3463 Mourfield Road 3690 Russell Avenue 5555 South El Dorado These wells were further investigated by conducing a reconnaissance survey in an attempt to visually verify the existence of the wells The physical search is described below 2937 Veneman Ave, #B240 Geo-Phase Environmental Inc Phone(209)569-0293 Modesto, CA 95356 Fax(209)569-0295 I
