El Dorado
Stockton, California
1 August 1,2003
GPE Project No 102 3
1 On behalf of the Bank of Stockton, Geo-Phase Environmental Inc constructed the surface
and sub-surface equipment needed to conduct a pilot scale test of a vapor extraction and
lie
air sparge system designed to test the feasibility of using these methods as part of a
corrective action strategy to mitigate the gasoline impacted soil and groundwater at this
site Based, in part, on the results of the pilot test program, a feasibility study was
1 completed to evaluate several remedial alternatives As discussed below, we have
concluded that the combination of air spargzng and soil vapor extraction is likely to offer
a cost effective strategy to adequately mitigate this release
1 1.0 INTRODUCTION
1 To date, the remedial investigation work has consisted of groundwater monitoring The
vertical and lateral extent of the gasoline impacted soil and groundwater has been deemed
adequately defined and the available data suggest that the contaminant plume is stable
1 and has not migrated off of the Property except in a small area to the west under El
Dorado Street The continued high levels of gasoline and volatile organic hydrocarbons
present in groundwater samples collected from on-site wells, however, suggest that
1 natural attenuation is not adequately mitigating the groundwater plume
' Groundwater monitoring suggests that the contaminant plume is stable and has not
migrated off of the Property except in a small area to the west under El Dorado Street
The continued high levels of gasoline and volatile organic hydrocarbons in groundwater
' samples collected from on-site wells, however, suggest that natural attenuation is not
adequately mitigating the groundwater plume The Bank of Stockton therefore agreed to
' 2937 Veneman Ave,#B240 Geo-Phase Environmental Inc Phone(209)569-0293
Modesto, CA 95356 Fax(209) 569-0295
