El Dorado <br /> Stockton, California <br /> 1 August 1,2003 <br /> GPE Project No 102 3 <br /> 1 On behalf of the Bank of Stockton, Geo-Phase Environmental Inc constructed the surface <br /> and sub-surface equipment needed to conduct a pilot scale test of a vapor extraction and <br /> lie <br /> air sparge system designed to test the feasibility of using these methods as part of a <br /> corrective action strategy to mitigate the gasoline impacted soil and groundwater at this <br /> site Based, in part, on the results of the pilot test program, a feasibility study was <br /> 1 completed to evaluate several remedial alternatives As discussed below, we have <br /> concluded that the combination of air spargzng and soil vapor extraction is likely to offer <br /> a cost effective strategy to adequately mitigate this release <br /> 1 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> 1 To date, the remedial investigation work has consisted of groundwater monitoring The <br /> vertical and lateral extent of the gasoline impacted soil and groundwater has been deemed <br /> adequately defined and the available data suggest that the contaminant plume is stable <br /> 1 and has not migrated off of the Property except in a small area to the west under El <br /> Dorado Street The continued high levels of gasoline and volatile organic hydrocarbons <br /> present in groundwater samples collected from on-site wells, however, suggest that <br /> 1 natural attenuation is not adequately mitigating the groundwater plume <br />' Groundwater monitoring suggests that the contaminant plume is stable and has not <br /> migrated off of the Property except in a small area to the west under El Dorado Street <br /> The continued high levels of gasoline and volatile organic hydrocarbons in groundwater <br />' samples collected from on-site wells, however, suggest that natural attenuation is not <br /> adequately mitigating the groundwater plume The Bank of Stockton therefore agreed to <br />' 2937 Veneman Ave,#B240 Geo-Phase Environmental Inc Phone(209)569-0293 <br /> Modesto, CA 95356 Fax(209) 569-0295 <br />
