' Bank of Stockton- Cutter Lumber Site Page 6 Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring Report Project No 102 2 January 21,2002 ' 3.0 DISCUSSION ' 3.1 Discussion of Data ' Field and analytical data results are summarized n Tables 1 and 2 and illustrated in Figures 3 through 5 The map of groundwater gradient (Figure 3) suggests that the flow of groundwater is to the northeast The water table ha, risen about 1 to 2 feet since the last monitoring event in September of 2001 The direction and ' gradient of flow have remained generally consistent over the entire time the wells have been monitored, although in this event, the gradient has flattened substantially since the September event ' Ing eneral, the analytic data suggest that contamin tnt levels are gradually decreasing except in the area of MW-8B and MW-7, near the core of the plume ' It appears that the lateral extent of the contaminant plume may also be gradually decreasing The wells MW-10 and MW-11, at the distal periphery of the plume have been producing samples with essentially non-detectible levels to petroleum contaminants ' 3.2 Future Work Schedule Quarterly groundwater monitoring and sampling should continue Recently, ' Geo-Phase Environmental submitted a Work Plan that proposed pilot level remedial work to investigate possible methods to achi3ve an adequate level of mitigation of this site The Work Plan has been approved by the LOP agency, ' and a detailed budget covering the work is being prepared for submission to the State UST Clean-up Fund for pre-approval of the associ ited costs 1 ' 2937 Veneman Ave,#B240 Geo-Phase Environmental Inc Phone (209) 569-0293 Modesto, CA 95356 Fax (209) 569-0293 1
