1•
1
GEO-PHASE
ENVIRONMENTAL
i
1 WORK PLAN
Remedial Action Feasibility Study
' Cutter Lumber Site
3930 S. El Dorado
Stockton, California
1 October 25,2001
Project No. 102.3
. 1.0 INTRODUCTION
1 Prior work at this site has shown that two separate releases have occurred at widely
separated parts of the Property from two separate former tank settings. The initial
' remedial investigation focused upon a release from former tanks located near the south
end of the Property. This release has been deemed adequately mitigated. During
groundwater monitoring work associated with this release, unexpected groundwater
contamination was also identified several hundred feet north of the original release.
Subsequent investigation revealed the existence of another, previously unknown UST
release. Field work and groundwater monitoring completed at the site since 1997 show
' that a former leaking underground gasoline storage tank impacted the soil and
groundwater with gasoline range petroleum hydrocarbons. To date, the remedial
' investigation work has consisted of groundwater monitoring. The vertical and lateral
extent of the gasoline impacted soil and groundwater has been deemed adequately defined
and the available data suggest that the contaminant plume is stable and has not migrated
' off of the Property except in a small area to the west under El Dorado Street. The
continued high levels of gasoline and volatile organic hydrocarbons present in
groundwater samples collected from on-site wells, however, suggest that natural
1 attenuation is not adequately mitigating the groundwater plume. This Work Plan is
submitted to propose methods and protocols to conduct work, which will investigate the
feasibility of several options designed to remove petroleum hydrocarbons from the
. subsurface.
' 2937 Veneman Ave.,#B240 Geo-Phase Environmental Inc.
