Box 2009
10001 Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, CA 95201
SUBJECT: Soil and Groundwater Investigation Report,
Manna Pro Feed Mill, Stockton, California
Dear Steve:
As you know, during the period from November 8 through December 6,
1990, we performed extensive testing of the soil and groundwater in and
around the current excavation at the Manna Pro Feed Mill in Stockton to
evaluate the extent of the contamination at the site, determine the nature of
the contamination, analyze its movement in the soil and groundwater, and
formulate methods for its treatment. This report comprises the results of
that investigation and our analysis and conclusions of the facts we
gathered. The report also contains the results of our testing of the
approximately 2500 cubic yards of stockpiled soil outside of the current
excavation which had been previously removed.
Soil and Groundwater Investigation
Our testing of the soil and groundwater in the vicinity of the current
excavation, the particulars of which are set out more fully in the enclosed
report, revealed soil and groundwater contamination of varying degrees by
petroleum hydrocarbon products. The soil contamination appears in a zone
from roughly 35 to 45 feet below grade. We estimate there are at least 8500
cubic yards of hydrocarbon-contaminated soil in the ground at substantial
concentrations. Figure 3-3 in the report depicts the estimated boundaries of
the soil contamination.
Ibi
An affiliate of The Environmental Resources Management Group with offices worldwide tAi©
