AZURE ENVIRONMENTAL <br /> Ground-water monitoring data continue to indicate the petroleum hydrocarbon plume has <br /> stabilized and is restricted to shallow ground water in the area adjacent to the former tank <br /> locations at the Site Residual petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations in Site ground water are <br /> expected to continue to decrease as a result of biodegradation and/or other attenuation processes <br /> 4.0 TECHNICAL STATUS REPORT <br />' Work Completed During the Fourth Quarter 1996 <br />' Work completed during the fourth quarter included performance of the quarterly ground-water <br /> monitoring program <br />' The report entitled "Soil Sampling Results and Recommendation for Soil Treatment Cell Closure" <br /> was submitted to the San Joaquin County Public Health Services on December 26, 1996 Based <br /> on the evaluation of soil sampling results presented in the report, it was recommended that no <br />' further remedial actions for treatment cell soil at the Site were necessary and that the treatment <br /> cell should be approved for closure <br />' Site closure requirements were discussed in a telephone conversation with Mr Harlan Knoll of <br /> the San Joaquin County Public Health Services on November 12, 1996 In our conversation, it <br /> was agreed that quarterly monitoring data indicate the petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations in <br /> ground water have stabilized and are generally decreasing It was also agreed that remedial <br /> actions do not appear to be warranted at the Site In addition to collecting quarterly <br /> monitoring data for a period of at least 1 to 2 years, Mr Knoll requested the following <br /> information be included with a site closure recommendation 1) an inventory and survey of <br /> wells within a 2,000-foot radius of the Site, and 2) the status of the fire prevention system <br /> water well and septic system at the Site <br /> Work Expected to be Completed During the First Quarter 1997 <br />' Work expected to be completed during the first quarter includes continued performance of the <br /> quarterly ground-water monitoring program <br /> 3 " <br />
