Work Pian Page 10 <br /> Former Manna Pro Site <br />' Project No 207 3 <br /> August 16, 1999 <br />' 4.0 PILOT SYSTEM WELL INSTALLATION <br />' Several wells will be constructed through the contaminant plume to test the efficacy of <br /> various remedial methodologies which could be employed at this site The following <br /> section describes the installation of three monitoring wells and one soil boring that will <br /> be used during the conduct of the pilot testing It is anticipated that the wells will be <br /> installed approximately 1 week before the commencement of the air sparge and vapor <br /> extraction pilot test See the attached site map for monitoring well locations <br /> I4.1 Soil Boring Installation <br />' A total of five soil borings will be installed in the area of the release These will be <br /> drilled with 8, 10 or 15 inch o d hollow stemmed auger tools operated by a C-57 licensed <br /> drilling contractor During drilling, the boring will be logged and sampled by a <br />' professional geologist supervised by a registered geologist The approximate depths of <br /> the boring will be as follows <br />' Well Boring Diameter Boring Depth <br /> 1 Vapor Extraction Well 15 inch 50 feet <br /> 2 Air Monitoring Wells 10 inch 30 feet <br /> 1 Air Sparge Well 10 inch 55 feet <br /> 1 ORC Boring 8 inch 50 feet <br /> 4.2 Pilot Remedial Well Construction <br />' The following section describes the construction of each remedial well Locking water <br /> tight well caps will be installed on top of each well as well as traffic rated well boxes <br /> (with the exception of the ORC boring) <br /> 4.2.1 Vapor Extraction Well Construction <br /> This well, designated VEW-1, will be located near the center of the point of release The <br /> following table describes the construction of the vapor extraction well <br /> Casing 4 inch Schedule 40 PVC <br /> Screen 0 040 inch slotted 4 inch Schedule 40 PVC <br /> I Screened Interval 20-50 feet below ground surface (bgs) <br /> Filter Pack 18-50 feet bgs <br /> Filter Pack Material Pea gravel <br /> Bentonite Transition Seal 18-15 feet bgs <br /> Annular Seal 0-15 feet bgs <br /> 2937 Venernan Ave ,##B240 Geo-Phase Environmental Inc Phone(209)569-0293 <br /> Modesto,CA 95356 Fax(209)569-0295 <br />
