Report-Pilot Remedial System Test Page 8 <br /> Former Manna Pro Site <br /> Project No 207 3 <br /> July 31, 2000 <br />' 3.0 PILOT TEST SYSTEM INSTALLATION <br /> f <br /> 3.1 Permitting <br /> Permitting for the on-site work included drilling permits from the San Joaquin County <br />' Public Health Services Environmental Health Division (SJC-PHS-EHD) The San <br /> Joaquin Valley Unified Air Pollution Control District (SJVUAPCD) was also notified <br /> about the conduct of the vapor extraction pilot test <br /> I3.2 Soil Boring Installation <br /> L In order to complete the pilot test, a total of five soil borings were installed in the area of <br /> the release These were drilled with 8, 10 or 15 inch o d hollow stemmed auger tools <br /> operated by a C-57 licensed drilling contractor During drilling, the borings were logged <br />' and sampled by a professional geologist supervised by a registered geologist The <br /> following paragraphs describe the borings more fully <br />' From April 18 through April 20, 2000 a BK-81 hollow stem auger drilling rig, owned and <br /> operated by V&W Drilling Co (C-57 #710678), was used to drill a total of 5 soil borings <br />' These were completed to varying depths depending on the intended purpose of each <br /> boring The total depths varied between 30 and 55 feet The borings were designated as <br /> Vapor Extraction Well I (VEW-1), Air Sparge Well 1 (ASW-1), Observation Wells 4 <br /> and 5 (OB-4 & 013-5), and a boring backfilled with Oxygen Release Compound (ORC-1) <br /> (see attached maps) All borings except ORC-1 were later converted into wells During <br /> this period of time, another boring (MW-11) was also installed to 97 feet below grade A <br /> deep groundwater monitoring well was constructed into the well A prior report <br /> documented the drilling and construction of MW-11 While drilling, all soil cuttings <br /> were placed in D O T approved, steel 55 gallon drums for temporary storage pending <br /> profiling and proper disposal The following table summarizes the total depths and <br /> boring diameters of the five soil borings <br />' Well Boring Diameter Bonng Depth <br /> I Vapor Extraction Well 15 inch 50 feet <br /> 2 Air Monitoring Wells 10 inch 30 feet <br />' 1 Air Sparge Well 10 inch 55 feet <br /> I ORC Boring 8 inch 50 feet <br /> 2937 Venernan Ave , 9B240 Geo-Phase Environmental Inc Phone(209)569-0293 <br /> Modesto,CA 95356 Fax(209)569-0295 <br />
