September 26,2003 <br /> 5.0 SYSTEM MONITORING AND MAINTENANCE <br /> The remedial system has been designed for monitored throughout the duration of the <br /> project Elements of system monitoring include the following <br /> 5.1 Process/Effluent Air Monitoring <br /> Gasoline vapor concentrations in the extracted air will monitored with a portable <br /> "MmiRae Classic Plus" photo ionization detector (PID) Samples of the process vapor <br /> may be collected from sample ports in any individual well, or the master sample port dust <br /> upstream of the vapor extraction regenerative blower PID measurements will normally <br /> be conducted on a weekly basis and samples for laboratory analysis will be collected <br /> monthly and when mayor adjustments are made PID readings and laboratory samples <br /> will be taken more frequently when the wells in active service are being changed <br /> Gasoline concentration will also be monitored at sample ports installed between the two <br /> carbon filters and at the exhaust stack <br /> Field air flow measurements will be collected at least weekly using a Dwyer Series 475 <br /> digital manometer Differential pressure will be converted to velocity and then to SCFM <br /> of total vapor extracted The manifold pressure is monitor with permanently installed <br />' Magnahelic gauge <br /> 5.2 Sparge Air Monitoring <br /> The over all rate of air injection is monitored by means of a Rotameter rate gauge just <br /> down stream of the pressure regulator and sparge air filters The injection rates of <br />' individual sparge wells are monitored and regulated by means of controllable Rotameters <br /> just upstream of the sparge wells The manifold pressure is monitored by means of a <br /> pressure gauge located on the pressure regulator <br /> 1 <br /> r <br /> t <br /> s <br /> r <br /> i <br /> 2937 Veneman Ave, #13240 Geo-Phase Environmental Inc Phone(209)569-0293 <br /> Modesto,CA 95356 Fax(209)569-0295 <br />
