HYDROCARBON-IMPACTED SOIL <br /> MASS and VOLUME ASSUMPTIONS AND CALCULATIONS <br /> Volume of impacled soil left inplace in the vicinity of the former UST.- <br /> An estimate of the area] extent of impacted soil under the former waste oil UST area is made from <br /> samples collected frons borings B-1, B-2, B-3 and B-4. <br /> Based on the distance between the borings (ten.feet), a distance of 5 feet is utilized as an `average' <br /> E� radius of the hydrocarbon plume for the following calculation. The vertical distribution of the <br /> impacted soil appears to be between 5 and 15 feet in depth bsg. This volume was calculated from <br /> soil sample data. <br /> 1.
