ti
20 July 2000
AGE Project No. 98-0456
Environmental Health Division(PHS-EHD),Department of Water Resources(DWR). A well survey
was performed to identify city, domestic, irrigation or monitoring water wells located within a 2,000-
foot radius of the subject site. The area was visually inspected for wells.
4.0. FINDINGS
Soil descriptions were utilized to construct the site geological model; laboratory analysis of soil.
.r samples were utilized to assess the hydrocarbon-impact on soil and ground water.
4.1 SOIL PROFILE
;,. A black, moist silt was encountered at 5 feet bsg. Generally, a light brown to orange, dry, silty sand
was encountered at 15 feet bsg and 20 feet bsg. Moist silt or silty clay was generally encountered at
25 feet to 30 feet bsg. Locally, fine sand was encountered at 30 feet bsg. Boring logs are included
in Appendix A.
'-' 4.2 FIELD EVIDENCE OF HYDROCARBON-IlVIPACTED SOIL AND GROUND WATER
Petroleum hydrocarbon odor and organic vapor were not observed or detected in any of the soil
samples collected from B-2 through B-4 and AB-1. Soil from B-1 had hydrocarbon odor at depths
of 5 feet and 10 feet bsg.
4.3 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF SOIL SAMPLES
Sixteen soil samples were submitted to DHS-certified laboratories(McCampbell Analytical Inc.) for
analysis as noted above. TPH-g, BTEX, fuel additives and PCB's were not detected in any of the soil
samples analyzed.
TPH-d and TPH-mo were detected in two soil sample collected from B-1. TPH-d was detected in
. soil samples B-1-5 and B-1-10 at concentrations of 100 milligram per kilogram (mg/kg) and 420
mg/kg, respectively. Analytical results for the two soil samples noted that probable motor oil range
compounds were significant in these results.
TPH-mo was detected in soil samples B-1-5 and B-1-10 at concentrations of 350 mg/kg and 3,100
mg/kg, respectively. Approximately 109 gallons of motor oil and diesel fuel remain in the soil at
the site (Appendix B).
it Advanced GeOEnvirOnmental,Inc.
V
