E
30 September 1998
AGE-NC Proposal No. 98-1598
• Regulatory liaison and soil boring permit.
• Advancement of three soil probe borings at the waste oil UST site. Two probe borings will
be advanced and sampled to depths of 30 feet below surface grade(bsg); one probe boring
will be advanced and sampled to a depth of 70 feet bsg.
• Collection of soil samples from each probe boring at five-foot intervals.
• Field screening of soil samples using a photo-ionization detector(PID).
• Collection of grab ground water samples from each probe boring, if appropriate.
• Analysis of a total of fourteen soil and two ground water samples for total petroleum
hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline and diesel (TPH-g, TPH-d) and volatile aromatics .
(BTEX) in accordance with EPA Methods 8015/5030 and 8020.
• Analysis of a total of eight soil and ground water simples for fuel oxygenating compounds
(MTBE, ETBE, DIPE, TAME&TBA) in accordance with EPA Method 8260.
• Analysis of a total of eight soil and ground water samples for (PCBs) in the former waste
oil underground storage tanks (UST) location on the site analyzed for PCBs in accordance
with EPA Method 8080 modified.
1.2.
