GRAB GROUND WATER SAMPLE COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS
Grab ground water samples will be collected if ground water is encountered in the borings using a
Geoprobe water sampling assembly. Samples will be collected into four 40-m1 volatile organic
analysis (VOA) vials. Ground water sample collection procedures are presented in Section 4.3.
Ground water samples will be analyzed by a DHS-certified laboratory for:
• TPH-g and by EPA Method 8015MI5030;
• BTEX by EPA Method 8260B; and
• Fuel oxygenates including MTBE,TBA,DIPE,ETBE,TAME,methanol, ethanol,EDB and
1,2-DCA by EPA method 8260B.
Laboratory reports for ground water analyses, testing methods, laboratory quality assurance/quality
control (QA/QC)reports, and sample chain of custody documentation will be presented in a report
with the findings and recommendations.
3.4. MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION AND SAMPLING
If the results ofthe initial soil and groundwater assessment activities indicate a significant petroleum
hydrocarbon impact to ground water, ground water monitoring wells will be installed at the site.
Prior to installation of ground water monitoring wells, proposed locations and well designs for the
monitoring wells will be submitted to the SJCEHD in an addendum work plan for approval. The
proposed monitoring wells will provide repeatable sampling points for monitoring ground water
elevation and the petroleum hydrocarbon impact to ground water. The procedures for monitoring
well installation and collection of soil and ground water samples are presented in Section 4.4 and
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
