REC E WED
AUG 12 2004
August 9, 2004 ENVIRONMENT HEALTH
PERMIT/SERVICES
Mr. Paul Supple 02130
Atlantic Richfield Company - 06.x2
P.O. Box 6549
- Moraga, California 94570
Re: Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring Report U
Second Quarter 2004, for ARCO Service Station No. 02130
Located at 7906 North EI Dorado Street, Stockton, California
Dear Mr. Supple:
URS Corporation Americas (URS) is submitting the attached report, which presents the results of the
second quarter 2004 groundwater monitoring and sampling program at Atlantic Richfield Company
(ARCO — a BP affiliated company) Service Station No. 2130, located at 7906 North El Dorado Street in
Stockton, California.
Please be advised that in our continued effort to remediate the impacted groundwater at the site, URS
has moved the air bubbling device to well V W-10. Well VW-10 is themost impacted well at the site and
URS hopes that bubbling air into this well will aid in the natural bio-attenuation of the petroleum in this
area. The bubbling device was moved to well VW-10 on April S, 2004.
URS requests that the San Joaquin County Environmental Health DepLin
nt re-evaluate the
need for quarterly methanol analysis. Methanol is not used as an oxygenaasoline at this time
and thus not needed to assess if a new release has occurred at a site.
If you have any questions regarding this report, please call Mr. Vernon Elarth at (916) 679-2299.
Sincerely,
fpOC
URS Corporatio Americas C>\c'yt PDUi
2r" I
No. 7 20
Exp. 13f O
Margaret Hogaboom Vernon Elarth, R.G.
Staff Geologist Project Manager OF CAJ'W
_ Attachment: Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring Report, Second Quarter 2004
cc: Mr. James Barton, Regional Water Quality Control Board, Central Valley Region
Mr. Mike Infurna, San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
Project File -
URS corporaunn
crown corporate center SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY
2870 Gateway Oaks Drive, Suite 300
Sacramento, U 95833 ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH DEPARMW
Tel: 916.679.2000 304 E WEBE ,AV
Fax: 916.679.2900 STOCKTON v[a xaao=
a ann
(209) 488.3420
Approved
/ ] Approved with changes: See Rsrftft
:7 Disapproved: See Remarks
zemarks
Date Btt
Approal extends 0* b thatrich orrrr and daaoNtl
hereon and does not authorize or a arty orrllMim W
1rvii.T?ier rrom v=nuirements of state laws ork" ardM1mm
